Semarak Perayaan Imlek di Klenteng Dharma Bakti

Suasana khidmat begitu terasa saat memasuki area klenteng Dharma Bakti yang berada di kawasan Petak Sembilan, Glodok, Jakarta Barat. Ribuan umat padati klenteng tertua di Jakarta ini untuk melakukan peribadatan (Sembahyang) jelang malam pergantian tahun baru Imlek 2565.

Aroma khas dari pembakaran dupa dan kertas doa yang mengepul di sekitar area klenteng menambah kuat suasana perayaan imlek. Petugas klenteng yang hilir mudik mempersiapkan aneka perlengkapan untuk sembahyang, pun tak ketinggalan petugas keamanan yang terdiri dari Polisi dan Linmas yang membantu mengamankan jalannya peribadatan. Sungguh pemandangan yang indah dari sikap toleransi antar umat beragama.

Di area pelataran klenteng yang dibangun tahun 1650, dipadati para pengalap berkah yang secara rutin datang saat perayaan imlek seperti saat ini. Mereka kebanyakan para lansia dan ibu berharap pulang dengan membawa secuil angpau.

Hiruk pikuk manusia yang memadati area klenteng juga dimanfaatkan oleh para pedagang di luar area dengan menjajakan barang dagangannya, mulai dari pernak-pernik hingga aneka makanan dan minuman.


Bunyi petasan dan nyala kembang api menambah meriah perayaan penyambutan tahun kuda kayu ini. Suasana yang jarang ditemui di hari-hari biasa.

Tennis Player Arthur Ashe Announces He Has AIDS (1992)

Ashe was the first African-American male to reach prominence in tennis and was thus a very public figure, even after his retirement, which followed a 1979 heart attack and quadruple-bypass surgery.
