Irman Gusman : Potensi pertanian Indonesia sangat besar

Ketua Dewan Perwakilan Daerah Irman Gusman yang juga merupakan salah satu peserta konvensi calon presiden dari partai demokrat memaparkan gagasannya di hadapan media (08/01/14) di jalan pati unus Jakarta. Dalam acara yang bertajuk ‘Meet The Press’ itu Irman menyampaikan paparannya mengenai strategi dan rencana yang akan dilakukan apabila dipercaya menjadi capres partai demokrat.

Menurut Irman Gusman sektor pertanian adalah salah satu sektor yang pertumbuhannya dibawah rata-rata pertumbuhan ekonomi nasional, Irman melanjutkan dirinya akan memacu pertumbuhan sektor pertanian apabila dipercaya menjadi presiden “hampir 35% penduduk Indonesia terlibat dalam sektor pertanian dan disanalah kemiskinan itu berada, untuk itu seandainya saya ditakdirkan menjadi presiden Republik Indonesia saya akan memacu pertumbuhan sektor pertanian setinggi mungkin”. Ucapnya


Masalah peralihan lahan produktif menjadi industri juga menjadi sorotan bagi Irman selain masalah dukungan Bank dalam membantu sektor pertanian. Irman mencontohkan negara Selandia Baru yang memiliki sektor pertanian yang modern dan tangguh menjadi negara yang maju dan teraman di dunia. “Itu salah satu contoh nyata, kalau kita bersungguh-sungguh dan serius merevitalisasi sektor pertanian ” tegas Irman.
