Anggi Umbara berencana buat sekuel comic 8

Setelah selesai memproduksi project film terbarunya yang berjudul Comic 8, Anggi Umbara selaku sutradara dari film yang bergenre comedy action tersebut mengaku puas dengan hasilnya. Dirinya pun berencana akan membuat sekuel dari comic 8, “kita liat kalo misalnya target tercapai di film comic 8 ini kita akan lanjut ke berikutnya, tapi masalah apakah pemainnya akan dipertahankan kita belum tau.” Ujar Anggi saat Preiere film Comic 8 di Epicentrum XXI.

Dalam pembuatan film Comic 8 ini Anggi Umbara menjelaskan prosesnya mulai dari penulisan skenario dan konsep sampai film tersebut selesai menurutnya hanya butuh waktu 5 bulan. “Jadi prosesnya, saya dihubungin dari falcon pictures terus diajak bikin film isinya tentang satand up comedian. Terus akhirnya ketemu dengan penulis cerita, ceritanya tentang perampokan bank. Prosesnya satu bulan dari bikin konsep dan skenario sampai selesai, ga nyampe lima bulan udah jadi filmnya” ujar pria yang juga menyutradarai film Mama Cake ini.


Comic 8 bercerita tentang 8 anak muda dari berbagai background yang kebetulan merampok sebuah bank dalam waktu yang bersamaan, para perampok itu diperankan oleh stand up comedian ternama yaitu, Mongol, Ernest, Bintang, Babe, Fico, Kemal, Arie kriting dan Mudy. Film yang siap rilis pada 29 Januari 2014 ini juga melibatkan beberapa pemain dari berbagai generasi seperti Laila Sari, Hengki Soelaiman, Kiki Fatmala, Indro Warkop, Joe P Project, Nirina Zubir, Agus Kucoro, Nikita Mirzani, Ence Bagus, Panji Pragiwaksono, Cak Lontong dan Coboy Junior.
