Pementasan teater KEN DEDES ajarkan sejarah

Teater sendiri Jakarta kembali mengelar pertunjukan teaternya pada akhir pekan ini 11 dan 12 Januari 2014. Bertempat di Teater Kecil Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jalan Cikini Raya nomor 73 Jakarta. Kali ini teater pimpinan seniman Nawir Hamzah ini memilih tema cerita ‘Ken Dedes’. Dalam keterangannya Nawir Hamzah yang juga merupakan penulis naskah dan sutradara ini mengungkapkan, bahwa teater sendiri sedang berkonsentrasi untuk kembali mengangkat tema sejarah kedalam teater “kami berkonsentrasi terhadap karya-karya lokal, karena banyak dari kelompok teater yang berbeda kurang memperhatikan apa yang menjadi milik bangsa Indonesia, yaitu cerita rakyat, sejarah, legenda-legenda itu kurang diangkat kepermukaan, sehingga kami merasa terpanggil untuk kembali menggali apa yang dimiliki bangsa ini” ucap Nawir Hamzah.


Dalam pertunjukan teater Ken Dedes itu, mantan Putri Indonesia Pariwisata 2011 Andi Natassa didaulat sebagai pemeran Ken Dedes. Selain Andi Natassa  pementasan ini juga didukung oleh Engelbertus Kastiarto, Sarah Firdausy, dan Bambang Panji Erawan. Penata geraknya adalah Nia Turnia, sementara yang menggarap musiknya Helmi BP. Dalam pementasan teatr ini memaparkan tentang pengalan kehidupan Ken Dedes, Ken Dedes adalah perempuan pilihan dewa, yang melahirkan raja-raja di tanah Jawa. Demikianlah wahyu yang diterima Empu Purwa, ayah Ken Dedes. Selain itu pementasan ini juga menampilkan beberapa karya seni lukis dari beberapa pelukis muda.
