Alasan Erros Djarot berpolitik

Selain bermusik Erros Djarot juga dikenal sebagai seorang mantan politisi partai PDI-P, dirinya pun bercerita awal mula terjun dalam dunia politik. Menurut Erros saat itu dirinya merasa sangat prihatin dengan kondisi bangsa dimana kebebasan untuk berekspresi, berpendapat dan berkarya dibatasi “pada saat itu kebebasan tidak ada kita mau ngomong apa ga boleh, terus saya mau nyanyi saja” ujarnya saat ditemui di Senayan City.

Ajakan dari Ibu Fatmawati juga lah yang kemudian meyakinkan dirinya untuk masuk dalam dunia politik. Dirinya pun mengaku bahwa terinspirasi dengan gagasan dan pemikiran bung Karno, namun bagaimanapun juga bagi Erros Djarot musik adalah bagian dari kehidupannya yang sudah mendarah daging “buat saya musik itu sesuatu yang sudah mendarah daging, musik is part of my life, saya boleh kehilangan pacar tapi kehilangan musik saya bisa mati” ucap Erros.


 Musik dan karya film Erros dikenal pada saat itu sangat vokal dalam mengritisi pemerintahan, ia pun bercerita soal pengalaman kelam yang pernah ia terima saat karyanya di bredel pemerintah Orba, “ketika saya melawan di era reformasi saya di bredel, dan ketika itu semua kaum reformis, politisi diam. di negara manapun tidak ada sejarahnya orang baru mikirin konsep sudah dibredel, yang ada setelah jadi baru dibredel. Pertanyaan saya apa kamu masih diam melihat itu? No i will fight till the end” tutupnya.
